About the Shattered Series: Light, Form & Reflection

Shattered is a sculptural mirror that catches and breaks light, creating shifting reflections that animate the space around it. Made from mirror-polished aluminium, the piece amplifies natural light and introduces a subtle play of colour and distortion, depending on where it’s placed.
More than a functional object, Shattered acts as a quiet statement—an architectural element that adds presence, stillness and brightness to contemporary interiors.

Made from mirror polished aluminium, no other materials involved, which means it’s fully and endlessly recyclable without losing quality. Aluminium is one of the few materials that does not degrade or get downcycled in the recycling process; it keeps its value, purity and strength.
While aluminium production does require relatively high energy in the initial manufacturing phase, its exceptional durability, low material weight and infinite recyclability balance this impact. The result is a long-lasting, high-quality material with a minimal footprint over its full lifecycle.

The Shattered mirrors come in three sizes. Shattered I is the smallest, standing at approximately 20 cm tall. Shattered II is the medium size at around 30 cm, and Shattered III is the largest at about 40 cm in height. Each size creates a different spatial presence — from subtle sculptural accent to bold shattering statement.

Each mirror is handmade by me in my studio in Amsterdam. Every piece is individually measured, marked and shaped using only a pencil, ruler and knife — a slow, precise process that makes every mirror subtly unique.
